Khorshid Alokozay – Expert in Education and Human Development

Khorshid Alokozay is a highly experienced educator and master trainer with over 15 years of teaching experience at a public university and more than a decade of delivering large-scale human development training programs in Afghanistan. She has dedicated her career to curriculum development, gender and development training, and capacity building, with a strong background in project management, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. Her ability to design and implement impactful educational programs has significantly contributed to the advancement of literacy and professional development initiatives.

Throughout her career, Khorshid has worked extensively in teaching, management, and executing sponsored projects. As a lecturer at Balkh University, she played a key role in overseeing academic programs, managing student-administration relations, and leading fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. She also represented the university in public affairs, advocating for educational advancement and institutional growth.

In addition to her university role, Khorshid served as a Master Teacher Trainer at the Center for Afghanistan Studies, University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she helped build the professional skills of community teachers. She played a crucial role in monitoring and evaluating student learning achievements, designing teacher training programs, and coordinating with education managers to enhance curriculum effectiveness.

Her expertise extends to adult education and literacy training, having worked as a Lead Trainer for the USAID-Funded Literacy Community Empowerment Program. In this role, she provided basic education to adults and out-of-school youth, developed reading, writing, and problem-solving skills, and conducted research on adult literacy challenges to improve program outcomes.

Khorshid holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies from Kabul University. Her strong leadership, adaptability, and professional communication skills have allowed her to work effectively under pressure while fostering positive learning environments. She continues to be an advocate for education, human development, and gender equality, ensuring that students and educators receive the tools they need to succeed. Her dedication to training, curriculum development, and educational reform has left a lasting impact on communities and institutions, shaping the future of education in Afghanistan and beyond.
