In today’s multicultural environments, many Afghan children grow up predominantly communicating in English, risking the gradual loss of their native languages. At Kawun, we address this challenge by offering structured, engaging courses in Pashto and Dari. Through interactive lessons, storytelling, and cultural activities, students not only improve their language skills but also deepen their connection to Afghan history, traditions, and values-ensuring that their identity remains a proud part of who they are.
Faith is an integral pillar of Afghan culture, and we are honored to support families in nurturing their children’s spiritual education. Our comprehensive Quranic Studies program focuses on Tajweed, Tafsir, and Quran memorization (Hifz). More than just recitation, we aim to inspire students with the moral, ethical, and spiritual lessons found within the Quran and Hadith, guiding them to apply these teachings with wisdom and compassion in their daily lives, both within their homes and in broader society.
Recognizing the challenges faced by young immigrants when learning core academic subjects in a new language, we offer Mathematics instruction in Pashto and Dari. This bilingual approach ensures students build a solid mathematical foundation without language barriers, providing them with the confidence and skills to transition smoothly to English-based math curricula in the future. Through this method, we ensure no child falls behind due to linguistic obstacles.
