About Us

Kawun Online Language School is an initiative led by dedicated Afghan professionals with extensive expertise in education fields such as Pashto, Farsi, Mathematics, and Quranic studies. Our mission is to provide comprehensive and culturally-enriched education to children and youth, ages 6 and up, helping them to stay connected to their heritage while successfully integrating into their new lives in North America.

Cultural and Linguistic Education

In a multicultural setting where children often communicate and learn predominantly in English, maintaining a connection to their native languages can be challenging. Kawun Online Language School addresses this need by offering courses in Pashto and Farsi, enabling students to enhance their linguistic skills while preserving their cultural identities. This education not only strengthens their communication abilities in their native languages but also prepares them for linguistic versatility in bridging cultures.

Quranic and Islamic Studies

Understanding and practicing Islam's core teachings is at the heart of many Afghan families' cultural identities. Our Quranic studies program emphasizes the importance of reading, comprehension, and introspection of the Quran and Hadith. We aim to instill strong moral and ethical values, offering lessons that convey the beauty and depth of Islamic teachings, allowing students to integrate these lessons into their daily lives while living in a diverse society.

Mathematics in Native Languages

Recognizing the difficulties new immigrants may face when learning mathematics in English, we provide math instruction in Pashto and Farsi. This approach ensures that students gain a solid understanding of mathematical principles in a language that they are comfortable with, facilitating a smoother transition to learning these concepts in English later on. Our bilingual instruction method guarantees that students do not miss fundamental math skills due to language barriers.
